CSWE: Certified Solidworks Expert
The CSWE is Solidwork’s highest level certification, granted to less than 6,000 engineers worldwide ( <1% of certified users). It rigorously covers all aspects of the CAD software. No match for 10 years of experience in the program though!
CSWPA: Solidworks Advanced Subject Certifications
Surfacing Exam
The advanced surfacing covers surface modeling as well as fixing and modifying imported surface bodies. I use surface modeling frequently to create complex model geometry.
Drawing Tools
The advanced drawing tools exam certifies the user in making complex and detailed machinist drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials. I’ve mainly used drawings for patent application materials and assembly drawings.
Weldments
The advanced drawing tools exam certifies the user in making complex and detailed machinist drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials. I’ve used weldments as mechanical lead of MIT’s formula SAE Electric team to design a robust, stiff chassis that integrates with car systems.
Sheet Metal
The sheet metal exam cover the design of folded sheet metal parts. I haven’t used this functionality extensively, so it was useful to learn this side of Solidworks and familiarize myself more with sheet metal design.
Arduino Fundamentals Certification
The Arduino certification proves a basic understanding of Arduino, libraries, C++, breadboard prototyping, and basic electronics. I’ve been using Arduino’s software and breadboard-able hardware to prototype a variety of projects and validate components.
