Wearable Product Development
My main project is a wearable strength-training tracker called EverActive, where I am the lead hardware developer. I joined the team in late 2019, and in that time have:
Ideated, prototyped, and tested a variety of force-sensing technologies, the final iteration of which is patent-pending
Designed and supported 3 iterations of PCBs, continually optimizing size, power usage, and adding features for firmware development, research, and scale testing
Communicated with vendors and manufactures to design recent version for scale deployment
Summaries are available at our Wyss Institute Research Page and our recent promotional video and product renders (shown on right)
Research Device Development
The biodesign lab primarily focus on soft exosuits, particularly in application to medical rehabilitation or industrial safety and assistance. Since Fall 2020 I’ve also supported engineering development of multiple stroke-rehabilitation soft exosuit systems. In recent months I have:
Developed an add-on module to expand capabilities of the stroke-rehabilitation grip glove unit (shown left) to provide additional outputs for prototyping use for researches with Brown's Braingate Project
Assembled and tested multiple grip glove systems
Worked with engineers of the medical upper limb system (prototype shown lower left to design a wearable electronics to control a variety of pneumatic actuators and sensing systems.
For an overview of the research done on these platforms, you can visit overviews of the grip glove and upper limb on the Wyss Institute research pages
